Apple currently licenses much of the data underpinning the Apple Maps app from companies like TomTom. Apple announced on Friday that it had been rebuilding Apple Maps since 2015, and that the next-generation maps will be released for beta testers in San Francisco later this summer. The underlying map data itself, like the location of roads, businesses, and signs, will be all Apple's for the first time ever, the company revealed to TechCrunch.

All Tesla Model 3 reservation holders in the United States and Canada can now configure and order their vehicles, a Tesla representative confirmed to Business Insider. For now, the Model 3 is only available with a long-range battery. The $35,000 base model with a standard battery will be available in six to nine months for current reservation-holders, according to a Tesla representative.

Canada struck back at the Trump administration over U.S. steel and aluminum tariffs on Friday, vowing to impose punitive measures on C$16.6 billion ($12.63 billion) worth of American goods until Washington relents. The announcement by Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland marks a new low in ties between the neighbors and trading partners which have become increasingly strained since U.S. President Donald Trump took power in January 2017. The Canadian tariffs will come into effect on July 1 and largely target U.S. steel and aluminum products, but also foodstuffs such as coffee, ketchup and whiskies, according to a list by the Department of Finance.

Specifically, 53 percent of folks age 50 and older are unaware that Medicare Part B entails costs to the retiree, Money reports, citing the Nationwide Retirement Institute’s latest annual health care survey. While Medicare Part B premiums are higher for folks with higher incomes, they will still cost the typical person $1,608 in 2018.

U.S. federal energy regulators have told Energy Transfer Partners LP to finish restoring the land around parts of its Rover natural gas pipeline in Ohio and Michigan before allowing the company to put more segments in service. FERC said it authorized ETP to put Rover's Vector delivery meter station in Michigan, Defiance compressor station in Ohio and Market Segment between Ohio and Michigan into service on May 1 even though the company had not completed restoration of the grounds around those facilities.

A Delta Air Lines partner, SkyWest Airlines, removed five passengers from a flight departing from Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Wednesday, USA Today reported. The removal apparently stemmed from an argument that a passenger, Robyn Rodgers, had with a flight attendant over whether her phone was in airplane mode prior to takeoff. Videos of the argument appeared on Instagram, along with videos of the passengers who had been stranded at the Fort Wayne airport.

Tullow Oil (TLW.L) on Thursday raised its 2018 production outlook to 86,000-92,000 barrels of oil per day from 82,000-90,000 bopd, boosted by its offshore fields in Ghana. Tullow said it is preparing for the London Commercial Court to decide on a $277 million claim brought by Seadrill over the termination of the West Leo rig contract for force majeure in Ghana. Tullow has set aside $128 million in case it loses.

The nine ships, to be designed by BAE and built by government-owned ASC Shipbuilding in Australia are expected to underpin the country's maritime combat capability for decades to come, the Australian government said in a statement.
